Day 11
I got up a little earlier today, hoping to get out on the road before the heat got too bad. I said goodbye to the fam and started truckin' again. I was off to Las Vegas to meetup with Christine who was flying in to meet me to travel with me for the rest of the trip.
I had seen a few windpower generators before, but on the way through California to Nevada I saw a TON of them on one mountain, here is a shot of just a section.

They pretty much filled the horizon at one point. Things started getting a little more desert-y, a little more rocky, a little more shrubby.

Then I found out that I broke one of the rules of the driving network and was K-lined like 50 times from the highway.

Okay, like 10 people out there are going to get that joke, and it's not even that funny, but... WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? nothing. Nothing you can do.
Anyway, I made it to the Vegas airport, it was actually pretty easy to find and navigate, about 100 times easier than Logan or LAX. Christine was already waiting there, here is her picture (from later on).

I had booked a room at the Hilton, which is huge, like every major casino/hotel in Vegas, covering like blocks and blocks and blocks. I had ulterior motives for staying here though, the Hilton is the home of the Star Trek Experience and Quark's bar, its awesome, you go in and you feel like you're entering into Deep Space 9 and Quark's Bar, Klingons walk around and talk to you, they even had Borg mulling around this time (they didn't last time I came), it was awesome. They always have ST:TNG playing on the big screens, and there's TONS of Star Trek merchandise to buy, it was great - I bought some Romulan ale this time as well, as I had never tried it when I bought it last time (I've saved it). It was basically a draft beer colored blue/green, but it was still pretty nifty.
Also, the hotel room was on the 25th floor, it had a pretty kick-ass view, though I didn't get a picture till night time, it looked awesome with all the lights on in the distance.

After the bar, we did a little shopping, a little gambling (Christine doubled her 20 dollars), then we went to a cool nightclub and danced for a while, it was a pretty enjoyable time. Vegas is always a fun city, it stays up all night and there's no end of things to do.
Off to the Grand Canyon tomorrow, should be awesome!
