Day 12
I'm currently posting from Flagstaff, Arizona! I'm back in AZ once again, I haven't been here since the end of High School, its awesome to see it again. I've always really liked AZ quite a bit, the southern parts are just amazingly peaceful and beautiful.
We left Vegas, and lost some time unfortunately, the city is just so packed constantly that it takes hours to get anywhere. Once we were out we crossed over the Hoover dam which was kind of cool, I had never seen it before.

Normally half of my face is not a feature of the Hoover Dam, just this time.
After crossing we were in Arizona, it looked just like I had remembered it.

Not many cacti yet, but we were/are pretty far north (relatively speaking), and unforunately they don't grow much around these parts. Anyway, after a little while of driving, I was pulled over by an AZ state trooper for doing the same speed everyone else was, which is fine - I was still speeding, but I tend to have bad luck with those kinds of things. Its very easy when you're on desert roads and land is flat and empty for miles. He was a really nice guy though - I didn't have proof of insurance so he gave me a citation for that, which I can just send in when I get home and not get fined, and he let me off for the speeding. I was pretty cautious for the rest of the day driving wise, I think like 25 people passed me. But whatever, I can do without speeding tickets right now, especially because of the effect it has on my insurance.
Buttt - anyway, we made it to the Grand Canyon eventually, it was simply AMAZING, to describe it as huge is the understatement of the year. It completely fills and exceed your peripheral vision and goes on for miles. I got tons of pictures, here are a few.

Really awesome stuff. The colors of the rock were also great to see, deep reds and browns, colors you really don't see anywhere in NH. At one point I heard a woman saying that there was a family of Condors perched on a rock. I took a picture, I know somewhat what Condors are supposed to look like close up, but I couldn't quite tell at this angle. You be the judge.

Anyway, we took a bunch o' pictures, it was great - then we headed out, down to Flagstaff and found a hotel room. Its pretty hot, in general, here right now, I think temperatures had almost reached 110 in Phoenix the other day. Poco is holding up though, which I'm thankful for, not too too many days left to go.
Off to Roswell, New Mexico tomorrow! Gettin our kicks on Route 66!
