Day 15

Man oh man - writing to you all tonight from Pearl, Mississippi, slightly east of Jackson. Today was a pretty long drive, but we had some good times. I'm about 100 miles away from driving a total of 7,000 miles - the first plans I have when I get back is to get Poco into the shop immediately for an oil change and a tune-up.

Anyway, we got up this morning and headed out to an outlet that Mysti and Dave had suggested, "Justin's", which is in the town of, aptly enough, "Justin". Christine got some authentic cowboy boots

I got me this swell hat, its the only hat I've worn in a good 14 years, but its definitely worth it.

Now I blend in perfectly, no one will ever suspect that I don't come from the south, minus the lack of accent, New Hampshire ID, license plate, and no knowledge of southern ways whatsoever. ...

Anyway, after leaving Justin's, we headed towards Dallas on our way to Texarcana. Here's a cool shot of the outside of the city.

Another cool thing that I've been noticing since we've been in Texas specifically is how they have different speed limits for daytime and nighttime, I haven't seen that anywhere else. Kind of neat! (Though in certain places the speed limit is the same).

Then when we got to Texarcana, amazingly enough, we met up with Big and Little Enos Berdette! (Yeah, I know he meets them in Atlanta first, just go with me). Enis proposed the following: If we could get this "shipment" of Coors

from Texarcana to the boys thirsty in Atlanta by tomorrow night, he would pay out $50,000. One problem - crossing state lines with beer was Bootleggin' - and Smokey had his ears on - he would be hot on our trail. Ain't no way he'd rest till we were in jail.

The stakes were high - we had a long way to go and a short time to get there. Did we accept the challenge?

You bet we did!!* We jumped in Poco, I put the pedal to the metal and we were off. Stay tuned for updates in Atlanta tomorrow!

* All this is fake. OR IS IT?
